Tunneling Form Mold

Tunneling form system can be considered as a masterpiece of building engineering because by using this formwork style, in addition to saving cost and time due to the integration of building components (walls and ceilings), the building is much stronger against earthquakes and fire. Cost savings can be attributed to the frequent use of this mold and the reduction of running costs in proportion to the prolongation of project time, the removal of items such as joinery due to the smooth surface, and the possibility of using prefabricated mesh. This system has always been of interest to mass builders and has a high position in building technology.

Tunnel form: In the tunnel form system, the walls and ceilings will be applicable in one step, the tunnel form system is an integrated concreting system that allows the contractor to perform concreting in one step.
The tunnel form system consists of the integrated molding of walls and ceilings
The advantage of the tunnel form
Reducing project execution time
Concreting with a very smooth and polished surface
High savings in the total cost of the project
Create accurate dimensions at different stages
Removal of additional carpentry operations and.....
This format has been used in the world since 40 years ago
The last version of this system was registered in Turkey in 2007
Countries such as America, Canada, Turkey, and Malaysia are known to use this method due to the construction of high-rise buildings and were able to present very strong projects.
The number of available templates is so large that heavy projects can be done in minimum time
This method has a very good speed and efficiency compared to the traditional methods of beams and columns in ordinary concrete buildings, which take a long time.
Saving human resources Capital will not be involved in the work for a long time The construction time of the project is greatly reduced Costs are reduced
Increasing the quality of the structure and eliminating joinery operations It is very cost effective for bulk building projects Steps to do the work: 1. First of all, the applied concrete should be tested in terms of its strength, often the strength of the concrete in the tunnel mold execution method after 14 hours after concreting should be equal to 150 newtons per square millimeter.
2. The execution time of the second stage is early in the morning. At this time, the tunnel form is disassembled, cleaned and transferred to the next roof.
3. The execution time of the third stage must be executed before noon, when the mold is placed in its place and the steps of bolting, plumb, leveling are executed.
4. The time of the implementation of the fourth stage should be done in the afternoon, and in the afternoon after the reinforcement of the roof and installation of utility and electrical pipes, concreting will be formed.
5. The time of the fifth stage will be during the night, the steam operation, in this stage, the mold tents are closed and the concrete steaming operation is done inside the molding.

Technical Specifications

  • According to the integrity of the wall and roof of the structure, this system can be divided into two types of tunnel form and semi tunnel form. Tunnel form molding consists of connecting vertical and horizontal plates to each other and simultaneous concrete placing of two sections. Due to limitations, it may not be possible to implement the roof and walls at the same time. In this case, using Large Panel molds for the wall and a mechanism called a fly table creates a system of molding called a semi-tunnel.
  • In some cases, where there is symmetry in the plan of the building, it is possible to place concrete of each floor in two stages using the mold for half of the plan.
  • Equipment such as tower cranes are required to implement this method.
  • The use of connections that are easily assembled and do not require a professional technician is one of the points that are considered in the design of these templates.
